Position Details

Savion is looking for a landowner/client facing greenfield origination specialist who will work independently and efficiently to initiate new utility-scale solar, BESS, and energy infrastructure projects across Savion’s US footprint.  

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead trusted relationships with landowners, serving as Savion’s primary representative throughout the land acquisition and early-stage development process. 
  • Skip tracing landowner contacts by leveraging online resources (both paid and open source) and creatively overcoming apparent dead-ends and roadblocks. 
  • Cold-calling and creating landowner interest, initiating and driving negotiations, and closing real estate agreements to create projects ranging from 500 acres to more than 20,000 acres. 
  • Tracking and maintaining client/landowner interactions utilizing CRM, GIS & reporting resources shared with internal and external teams. 
  • Managing external counsel to timely produce, revise and close real estate contracts. 
  • Support others in the identification and execution of greenfield opportunities by evaluating prospective sites thru a commercial and risk lens to ensure timely and efficient project initiation. 
  • Initiate Phase 1 ESAs & critical issues analysis of new projects to rule out early-stage fatal flaws. 
  • Coordinate project interconnection process for new projects. 
  • Coordinate title curative and mineral waiver processes as necessary. 
  • Partner cross-functionally (real estate, permitting, development, legal) to ensure site control agreements support downstream execution and minimize risk 
  • Efficiently and effectively handoff early-stage projects to regional development teams once site control, interconnect application, and fatal flaw clearances are completed. 

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • 4 year college degree  
  • Outside (technical) sales PLUS commercial real estate negotiation (options, leases, purchase & sale agreements) PLUS renewable energy, BESS, or energy generation development experience  
  • A proven ability to initiate and close real estate agreements at a high volume 
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate, agricultural land and timber land markets  
  • Proficiency in CRM, GIS, Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Power-Point, etc. 
  • Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, technologies, market demands and other forces that influence the day-to-day workplan. 
  • Must be willing to travel up to 35%+ of time
