Position Summary

Savion is seeking a highly motivated and strategic-minded Project Analyst to join the Project Controls Team (PCT). The successful candidate will be comfortable working in an evolving environment where processes, systems, responsibilities, and organizational needs change over time. The ability to adapt, learn, and navigate change is considered a core requirement of the role.

The Project Analyst supports utility-scale solar, energy storage, gas, and datacenter projects through portfolio-wide budget forecasting, schedule management, reporting, and project data governance. Working closely with Project Developers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Real Estate, Engineering, and other business partners, the Project Analyst helps ensure project budgets, schedules, commitments, and key milestones accurately reflect approved project strategies.

This role provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to all phases of energy development while building expertise in project controls, financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration. The position reports to the Manager, Project Controls.

Responsibilities

Compliance and Procurement Administration

  • Coordinate vendor onboarding by completing required screenings and engaging relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate contract execution workflows by ensuring legal review, document formatting standards, signature routing, and tracking execution.
  • Enter purchase requisitions and monitor approval workflows through purchase order issuance.
  • Assist with invoice issue resolution in partnership with Accounting and project teams.
  • Facilitate purchase order lifecycle management with relevant stakeholders.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Scheduling

  • Maintain project budgets, forecasts, and schedules throughout the development lifecycle by coordinating with Developers and SMEs.
  • Support monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles by conducting meetings intended to capture changes in project scope, strategy, cost, and timing.
  • Analyze project performance and identify budget, schedule, or commitment variances.
  • Document forecast assumptions and maintain supporting evidence for material budget, schedule, and scope changes.

Strategic Analysis & Decision Support

  • Perform data validation and quality control reviews across project controls systems.
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reports to support project, portfolio, and management decision-making.
  • Prepare and distribute project and portfolio performance reports for management and project teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, workflow efficiency, and project controls processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, Economics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to organize and analyze large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work within a cross-functional matrix organization.
