Savion has been recognized as one of the Market Innovation Award winners in the 2025 Green Power Leadership Awards Ceremony which took place September 4 at the Renewable Energy Markets Conference, hosted by the Center for Resource Solutions. The annual awards program recognizes organizations and individuals building and growing the voluntary market for renewable energy or demonstrating leadership in procurement. The award honors leaders that are innovators and champions of renewable energy and whose actions are supporting the accelerated development of renewable energy markets. Savion earned this recognition for its work on Martin County Solar Project, one of the first U.S. large-scale solar projects in operation on reclaimed mine land in Appalachia.

Located on the former Martiki Coal Mine site, Martin County Solar Project is Savion’s first developed, constructed, owned, and operating solar project in Kentucky. The project reached commercial operation in January 2025 and is currently one of the largest utility-scale solar energy facilities operating in Kentucky.
