Savion has been recognized with the “Solar Technology Innovation Award” in the second annual CleanTech Breakthrough Awards. The annual awards program recognizes companies and products driving innovation in the global clean technology industry.
CleanTech Breakthrough is a leading independent market intelligence organization that evaluates and recognizes standout climate and clean technology companies, products and services around the globe. Savion earned this recognition for its work on Martin County Solar Project, one of the first U.S. large-scale solar projects in operation on reclaimed mine land in Appalachia.
Located on the former Martiki coal mine site, Martin County Solar Project is Savion’s first developed, constructed, owned, and operating solar project in Kentucky. The project reached commercial operation in January 2025 and is currently one of the largest operating utility-scale solar energy facilities in Kentucky.
