Internship Details

Savion is seeking a self-starting and highly motivated undergraduate or graduate student in engineering, engineering management or construction management from an accredited university to fill a Project Delivery/Project Management Summer Intern position starting in May 2026 and running to August 2026 with the possibility to extend the duration to December 2026.  The candidate will complete a variety of tasks while being trained and mentored by our team of solar experts. This position is open to all qualified individuals who desire to either work remotely or join Savion’s dynamic development team in our Kansas City office.

Position Responsibilities

The candidate will report to the Project Delivery Manager who is heavily involved in Savion’s development and construction strategy related to its portfolio of existing and proposed utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.  The candidate will assist the Project Delivery Manager and other team members in executing their daily activities.  This will provide the candidate the opportunity to interact daily with Savion’s project development team which is comprised of numerous subject matter experts in real estate, environmental & permitting, transmission, origination, finance, GIS, and procurement. The ideal candidate will also provide ongoing technical engineering support for various development projects and would work closely with Project Managers, Pre-Construction Leads, Engineers, and cross-functional partners.

Job Responsibilities

  • Attend internal and external project meetings with cross functional teams, EPC partners, and contractors.‑functional teams, EPC partners, and contractors.
  • Support project documentation, action item tracking, and progress reporting.
  • Assist with early stage project scoping, schedule development, and risk assessment.‑stage project scoping, schedule development, and risk assessment.
  • Help coordinate RFP development, bid comparisons, and contractor engagement.
  • Support creation of project budgets, cost models, and quantity takeoffs.
  • Participate in review and management of construction schedules and deliverables.
  • Support analysis of construction progress, change orders, and cost impacts.
  • Assist in evaluating site readiness, mobilization planning, and construction logistics.
  • Help maintain project documentation and dashboards related to schedule, cost, and risk.
  • Assist in preparing internal presentations, project summaries, and leadership updates.
  • Prepare and present a summary of internship accomplishments and key learnings.

Position Requirements

  • At least a junior level undergraduate student in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management required
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Strong interest in project management, renewables energy, and/or construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel and other Microsoft products
  • Must have good analytical, decision-making, communication, creative problem-solving, and human relations skills.
  • Experience with project management software is a plus
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in group settings.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Location
