As Savion’s second operating project in Ohio, permitting on Marion County Solar Project began in late 2015. The Ohio Permitting and Siting Board approved the project in late 2021. Construction of the project took place between November 2024 and March 2026, and Marion County Solar Project is now delivering clean, renewable energy to the grid.
As part of Savion’s land stewardship efforts, Marion County Solar Project has partnered with a local Marion farmer to grow crops on-site. This collaboration supports local agriculture, provides additional income for the farmer, and helps Savion better understand crop performance at a utility-scale solar facility.
