The Project

Kiowa County Solar Project is Savion’s first project to be developed, constructed, and owned by Savion in Oklahoma. Beginning its journey in 2017 and obtaining a generation interconnection agreement in 2022, construction on the project lasted from August 2023 to December 2024. Kiowa interconnects into the AEP substation and connects to the Southwest Power Pool as it quietly generates renewable energy during its 40-year lifespan.

Agrivoltaics

We’re proud to partner with local farmers beyond the fence to help manage on-site vegetation in a more sustainable way at Kiowa County Solar Project.

We’ve also introduced 400 sheep and their loyal guardian dogs at Kiowa. These sheep will naturally maintain the site, reducing the need for mechanical mowing while supporting soil health and habitat quality.

As Savion’s first project to integrate sheep grazing, Kiowa County Solar Project demonstrates what’s possible through cross-team collaboration and a shared vision for sustainable land use.
