Position Details

The Human Resource Director will lead and oversee the Human Resources department in all HR functions, including HR compliance and policies, employee relations and investigations, inclusion and diversity, and employee total rewards (benefits and compensation). Duties / Responsibilities

  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends, including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s HR systems, and compares to external benchmarks
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
  • Creates and maintains control processes and conducts internal audits to ensure operational excellence
  • Oversight and approval of the bi-weekly payroll process
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
  • Support the company’s goals to build a diverse and inclusive workplace
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills to partner with other departments and subject matter experts to deliver collaborative and successful outcomes on complicated issues
  • The role drives people-related priorities, leads change management, and mitigates risk through effective employee and industrial relations

  • Manages and maintains up to date the company’s Handbook of Standards including various state specific addendums to the handbook
  • Regularly monitors compliance and partners with the legal team to recommend changes to existing policies and draft and/or develop new policies based on legislative and regulatory developments, provides guidance, notification and communication to team members and Leaders when necessary
  • Performs other duties as required

  • Keen sense of what is required to proactively maintain a workplace culture and compensation package to retain specialized talent, specifically in the renewable energy industry

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in legal, HR related, or business management area – required
  • At least ten years of experience with HR & Compliance for a quickly growing and dynamic organization is preferred
  • At least five years of management experience required
  • Five years minimum experience in a renewable energy development or similar company is highly desired
  • Payroll and 401K Plan Management experience desired
  • Recruiting and Remuneration analysis experience desired
