Position Details
Savion is seeking a Business Analyst with passion for renewable energy to join Savion’s Portfolio Management team. The Business Analyst will focus on the “Delivery” side of the business, support portfolio-wide tracking, forecasting, risk mitigation, budgeting, and decision making for Savion’s pre-construction / construction portfolio. The successful applicant will report to the Portfolio Strategy Manager and will work with developers, EPC team members, subject matter experts, and management to monitor Savion’s portfolio and guide strategic decision making. The Business Analyst will serve as a key player in the execution and growth of the Savion portfolio as we transition from a pure developer to developing, constructing and operating projects under Shell’s Ownership.
Core Responsibilities
- Leads the quantitative and qualitative analysis of project specific investment decisions from pre-construction forward
- Responsible for leading formation of Savion’s “Project Leadership Teams” for advanced stage projects.
- Works with the Project Leadership Teams to ensure that delivery stage projects are tracking to their approved project economics, budget and timeline
- Works with the portfolio management and broader Savion team to aggregate and quality control portfolio wide delivery budget line items that make up the Savion corporate budget
- Integral in the development and improvement of portfolio-wide tracking, reporting, risk management, and decision-making tools. Heavy focus on the EPC and asset management side of the business as Savion expands into the construction and operation of projects
- Becomes an expert on various regional and technological strategies along with the project specific plans to provide sound guidance and recommendations to management
- Work with various other functions and departments to formally integrate emerging technologies into Savion’s capital planning / tracking initiatives
- Creates project level and portfolio-wide PowerPoints, graphics, and other content to support funding approvals and ad-hoc business decisions
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in construction science, finance, economics, accounting, engineering or business administration is required
- MBA or related master’s degree is a plus
- 2 + years of experience in renewables, construction, analytics, engineering, finance or portfolio management related fields
- Understanding of the PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO generation interconnection process is preferred

- Understanding of Engineering, Procurement and Construction process
- Ability to analyze and review a wide range of data and information and distill it down into concise decision-making tools and presentations
- Experience presenting business decisions and recommendations to senior level management
- Experience developing, implementing and overseeing business operation processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Exceptional excel and financial modeling skills
- Experience with Microsoft Project or other project scheduling and budgeting tools
- Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization software
- Ability to handle and lead multiple tasks with little supervision
- Innovative mindset and willingness to take initiative to tackle business needs and recommend new ideas
- Ability to successfully lead efforts across multi-disciplinary teams
